Learning to hold our past difficult life stories with more compassion and hope


I often see folks who are so fused with their life stories and often hold those stories with so much fear, anxiety, rigidity, shame, anger, or resentment. Of course, it’s difficult to change those past life stories because it has already happened.

So what can we do?

We may have to learn to “hold those life stories” with feelings of compassion, care, hope, gratitude etc. rather than with fear, anxiety, shame, anger, and resentment.

So at times, it’s less about changing the stories, but more about “holding” or “attaching” a different feeling to those stories.

I wonder if you know what I mean….
