Helping our patients to have a better sense of control and more empowerment

Many of the folks I see in counseling, have an intrinsic belief of “Things simply happen TO me”. Of course, there may be very good reasons behind that.

Unfortunately, this can be a very disempowering space. There’s often a sense of no control. There’s excessive anxiety. There’s procrastination along with frustration, anger, blame, and avoidance.

These may show up as poor physical health. Poor emotional health. And of course, poor social health.

I am sure you have many of those on your books too.

With CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and a large dose of acknowledgement, mindfulness and defusion, we help people to realize that changing a few words in our thoughts and beliefs, can change our whole world perception, how we feel, how we behave, and how we can move forward.
