Helping our patients to pivot from “brokenness” to post traumatic stress growth

As a Family Doctor with an interest in mental health, many of my patients feel some sense of “brokenness”.

So how can I help to shift perspective and cultivate hope in “brokenness”.

The concept of Kintsugi may resonate with some of these folks.  It’s a Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold as “cement” to glue the broken pieces together.

It represents the “metaphoric truth” of something can be better after it has been broken.

It represents post traumatic stress growth.

I wonder if you can relate.
