Helping our patients hold thoughts and feelings more lightly in order to resolve conflict

Do you see a vase or two faces?

Either way can be “right” isn’t it?

Having the ability to hold onto thoughts and feelings more lightly is a very important skill in conflict resolution and life in general.

Unfortunately, when we are under excessive stress, we tend to hold onto thoughts and feelings way too tightly. It manifests as psychological rigidity.

Practicing mindfulness is to hold onto these more lightly for better psychological flexibility.
