I’ve seen a number of folks this week who struggle with “unbalanced lives”. This can create adjustment issues with tension and anxiety for them. The may suffer a lot from inner conflict.
In counseling, we try to assist these folks to create space between their “observing mind” and their thoughts/feelings, in order to find more balance with their “polarities”.
Stability vs newness
Certainty vs uncertainty
Entitlement vs self sacrifice
Thinking vs feelings
Being vs doing
Realism vs hope
Fixing vs accepting
Introversion vs extroversion
Inner compass orientation vs outer compass orientation
Past/future vs present
Fusion vs detachment
Zoom out vs zoom in
Fear driven vs value/passion driven
