The main purpose of this site is to create a platform to support those who are preparing for their RACGP exams particularly the OSCE RACGP exams. In addition, we are here to promote Mental Health awareness and training, better self care for Doctors, and a biopsychosocial model of health for patients. We are independent of the RACGP.

Helping Doctors to find balance and prevent burnout
I often hear and see how tough it is for those in the business of Doctoring.
Often we have to follow rules, good rules, bad rules, good guidelines, bad guidelines, do what works, do what is practical, AND at the same time, still trying to stay true to our principles and values.
Often we have to keep the person in front of us happy, manage their needs and wants sensitively, AND at the same time, still trying to stay true to our principles and values.
Often we have to keep our staff, family, colleagues, and the “system” happy, manage their needs and wants sensitively, AND at the same time, still trying to stay true to our principles and values.
So what are the signs that we have moved too much away from our principles, values, and who we are?
Feelings of stress
“Burnout”
“Moral injury”
Resentment
Anger
Frustration
Apathy and detachment
And general inner unhappiness
So how can we improve this?
1. Awareness and acknowledgement is the first step to aid emotional acceptance, and then “pivot” for change.
2. Improve the external “system” wherever we can, AND
3. Be very clear on our principles and values. Don’t lose sight of those. Listen to our “feelings” above early, and take value driven actions. Don’t ignore it. Seek help early if required. We are not alone.
