Aligning how you think and feel with your actions

In counseling and coaching work, one of my observations is that for some folks, having goals and taking actions to get to those goals is of primary importance, and how they FEEL about it is not as important as the goals/actions.

The problem with this approach is that one can unconsciously accumulate an “emotional debt”, and may end up “emotionally bankrupt” despite the outer observable success measured by achieved goals. Some may experience this as “burnout”.

Making sure that our thinking, feeling, and actions are all aligned may help with our success objectively as well as emotionally.

I wonder if you can relate or see this pattern in the patients you care for.
