Family problems require a family approach

I commonly see people with a lot of mental suffering due to significant dysfunction within their family unit.

Furthermore, due to the nature of the “emotional contagion”, other members in those families may be suffering too.

Unfortunately, they can start to blame each other for being “the problem”.

As Family Doctors, we sometimes have to “zoom out” and manage the problem at the “family unit” level don’t we?

A family problem will probably require a family approach.

That’s why we have family group item numbers 170/171/172 to assist the family if we choose to go down that path.
