To thrive in Medicine, we may need to be fluent in both the thinking and the feeling language

Doctoring is not easy because we have to be fluent in both the “thinking language” and the “feeling language”. We need to be “bilingual” as people are ruled by both their “thinking and feeling minds”.

Our early education and Med school teach us a lot about “critical thinking” but not much about “critical feeling” unfortunately.

If one is finding Medicine difficult, it may be a sign that there may be a weakness in “critical feeling”.

Being aware of the above may help us to better understand what it takes to better thrive in this industry.

I wonder if you can agree.
