Why helping our patients follow their values and beliefs in workable ways important
Knowing how to process one’s own emotions is not easy, especially if it is an uncomfortable, complex “emotional soup”.
Essentially, the emotional discomfort is often a sign that one is moving away from one’s values and beliefs.
Know with clarity one’s values and beliefs, and move towards that in a way that is still workable for society.
That is what Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) tries to facilitate.
