Helping patients to resolve conflict for better mental health

I often see folks who have great difficulties around conflict resolution.

In conflict, which is inevitable in any meaningful relationship, instead of defusing, re-aligning goals, reconnect and reconcile, they tend to fight, flight or freeze.

This will of course tend to make things worse.

Fear of conflict will then be inevitable.

These experiences will then reinforce the fight, flight or freeze for the next set of conflict.

Conflict resolution skills are therefore a critical part of any counseling work isn’t it?
