In counseling and coaching, I sometimes see folks who are chasing success, but their definition of success has been heavily influenced by the people around them.
Unfortunately, if they chase the “wrong type” of success for them and who they are, it may not give them the satisfaction that they are seeking. It might even give them a lot of pain and inner conflict.
Knowing our values around what it means to be “successful” is important. It serves as our “inner compass”.
