Helping our patients to “play well” with feelings

It’s not uncommon for me to see folks who are extremely logical in their perception and interaction with the outside world.

However, as they are not use to “playing with the feelings”, when the “feelings” come, it can hit them very hard, and often unexpected and confusing in nature.

Have you ever had patients like these or have experienced this yourself?

Learning how to be grounded enough to observe and notice our feelings, “sit with it” non judge-mentally, hold space for it, and process it in a healthy way, are all very important for our mental health and well-being.
