Helping our patients to recognize and process their internal emotions

I see quite a number of folks who are quite good at picking up and processing the feelings of others, the feelings amongst other individuals with each other, and the feelings including judgements towards them, BUT are not good at picking up and processing their own emotions. It is their Achilles Heel.

Part of counseling is to help these folks become more mindful of their own feelings, acknowledge them, and process them in a healthier way, rather than in a reactive compulsive kind of way.

Can you relate or seen many patients with this problem?
